THE CREATIVE CURRICULUM FRAMEWORK

Children are naturally curious and want to explore. The CREATIVE CURRICULUM will help to foster and nurture the whole child in their development.  Each interaction that the children have with the teachers allows for a chance of developmental growth, to learn about self, and the world around them.  This allows children total autonomy throughout their explorative ventures. We capture all of this by making observational notations, and anecdotal notes in real-time.

The Creative Curriculum Framework allows children to explore the world around them, examining their environments and fostering their innate curiosity through hands-on interactions of their individual journey of learning. It creates awareness of self, others, cultural diversity, global stewardship, community, and the natural environments.  Setting the foundation for self-aware, open-minded, well-rounded children to thrive in a dynamic, diverse, global society.

INTENTIONAL TEACHING

Intentional teaching is a deliberate and purposeful approach to education where teachers actively plan and respond to children's individual needs and interests, using interactions and activities to foster specific learning goals while considering each child's unique development and strengths, often incorporating play-based learning and spontaneous moments to maximize learning opportunities; essentially, it means being thoughtful and conscious about every teaching decision made to support children's development and learning effectively.

Key points about intentional teaching:

  • Purposeful interactions:

Every interaction with a child is designed to promote learning and development, whether through planned activities or spontaneous moments.

  • Active engagement:

Teachers actively engage children in learning by asking questions, modeling behaviors, and providing scaffolding as needed.

  • Play-based learning:

Intentional teaching often leverages play as a powerful tool for learning, extending children's play through thoughtful interactions and providing appropriate materials.

  • Adaptability:

Teachers are flexible and can adjust their teaching strategies based on children's responses and emerging interests.

  • Focus on individual children:

Teachers actively observe and assess each child's needs and interests to tailor learning experiences accordingly.
